i was thinking about my earlier post, This guy thinks he’s an expert, Beware, where i was telling you about the dangers of free training…
and i think i might’ve come off as biased without properly justifying the point i was making.
there’s no shortage of free knowledge online about any topic you can dream of. and all of us, when given a choice, will choose free information when we can.
there’re plenty of reasons for this, besides being a cheapskate.
for example, maybe you’re just curious. the other day, we watched a movie, and i wanted to know what other film i’d seen the lead actor in. i Googled him and found out what i wanted, for free. but if the only way to know what i was looking for was to pay for it, i probably wouldn’t bother. it’s not that important to me.
similarly, if your interest in online business is a passing curiosity, then i wouldn’t blame you for giving a hard pass to anyone trying to charge for the information.
but also, you’re obviously not a serious player, and you shouldn’t expect your search to yield very helpful information.
on the other hand, if you’re serious about learning something, you’ll be prepared to invest in educating yourself. you’ll be willing to pay for structured, correct, authoritative training on that topic.
and any expert properly paid will have the necessary incentive to create such a training.
something else to bear in mind is this…
if someone has valuable knowledge, they don’t share it for free with anyone.
most people make their living with their knowledge, skills, and experiences. if you’re a teacher, you get paid to teach. if you’re a writer, you get paid to write. if you’re a musician, you’re paid to compose.
the only time you do those things and don’t get paid is if you’re not good enough.
like if you’re a beginner learning to write, you might author many scribbles and find no one willing to pay for them.
if you’re not a particularly good or known musician, you might create musical noises and post them online for free. and you could do this for a long time without ever getting paid. but if you make a good song and it gets popular, you’ll expect to earn from it.
why should internet money-making skills be any different?
people who know how to make money online have valuable knowledge. they make money with it.
some guard their knowledge closely and apply it to their own projects
…others choose to hire out their skills to people that need them
…yet others decide to sell their knowledge to people who want to learn what they know.
those who do NOT have money-making skills with the internet have no reason to ask anyone to pay them for their knowledge. their YouTube videos are filled with misinformation, second-hand knowledge, hearsay, mistakes, and noise.
there’s nothing valuable you’ll learn from them. that’s why they share their lack of knowledge for free. no one’s willing to pay for it.
and learning anything from them for “free” is not free. because it wastes your time and teaches you to make costly mistakes.
if you want good, helpful, correct knowledge from experts that saves you time and money, you’ll need to pay.
a real expert knows that their knowledge is valuable. and they won’t give it away for free out of the goodness of their hearts. they got families to feed too.
if we give away SOME of our knowledge for free, it’s only to promote our services or PAID courses. it’s a taste.
you’re not meant to be able to extract the full benefit from a taste. you’re supposed to get just enough to have a good idea of what you’ll get when you pay.
that’s what these posts i write are–a taste.
they’re full of wisdom, knowledge, and experience. but by design, they’re not meant to give you the whole formula to making money online. they exist merely to give you an idea of my depth of knowledge and experience so you can trust that the knowledge I’m selling is good.
if your interest in making money online is not just a passing curiosity, and you’re seriously trying to figure out how to earn a living from home, then you’ll want to invest in learning the necessary skills.
you’ll be prepared to pay the correct expert to learn what they know.
