Why I Love to LOSE Leads

“This might sound weird, but I want my mailing list to agree with me and never question what I say. I want soldiers who’ll fight to defend my point of view.”
That’s a thing a friend said to me last night.
Haha. It’s funny, but I tend to agree.
It’s why I send out heavily polarized emails that are meant to ANGER people off the newsletter.
It’s why I REFUSE to sell to anyone who annoys me with their questions.
It’s why I manually remove people I dislike off my list.
The way I see it, each email is a FILTERING mechanism that rather than helping to keep people on the list, it should be getting people to drop off.
Think about it –
While everyone wants to have customers they LIKE…
Prospects will ONLY buy if they like YOU.
And if you don’t like them (or their kind), it will be obvious one way or the other, no matter how politically correct you try to be, they’ll still feel uneasy about you.
Why let them inhibit and censor your conversation?
Why worry about what THEY think?
If they DON’T like you, they won’t buy from you. So why keep them around?
They’re wasting resources by staying on your list; they’re wasting your time with their questions and objections; you may as well lose them.
But almost everyone hates to LOSE subscribers and they’re scared shytless to share their REAL thoughts with their list…some are even scared to send emails in case they lose subscribers!
That’s silly.
If you have a way to keep adding subscribers to your mailing list, you’ll have the luxury to turn away leads at will.
