Something’s been bugging me lately…
But first, let me ask you a hard question…
What do YOU think is the most important traffic skill to
How to get traffic for cheaper …
How to do better targeting…
How to do mass back-linking?
“A traffic guy is
only as good as his conversion.”
What does that mean?
Even if you’re REALLY skilled at traffic, you can’t sustain
any investment of time or money unless you can get that traffic to turn into customers.
But people struggling to get traffic can’t seem to get their
head around this idea. And I don’t get what’s so hard about it.
If your website doesn’t turn traffic into customers, there’s
no point sending it traffic.
See, traffic is like a garden faucet…
You turn it on, water shoots out the other end of the hose.
But if you don’t point that hose at some fertile soil, then tomatoes will NOT magically
spring out of the ground–unless you planted them first.
Otherwise you’re not “watering the garden”…you’re just spilling
Anyone who hopes to grow and eat their own tomatoes, they need
to make a nice garden first.
In online business, your website IS your garden.
And if it’s a shit website…or worse you don’t have your own
website, then it’s not worth it for you or for me to send traffic into it. All
traffic is wasted on it.
I want you to think about that for a minute.
Imagine your website in your head (if you even have one!)
Does it really work?
What’s the first thing someone sees when they get there?
Can they find all the information they need to make an
informed buying decision?
Do you actively try to create a relationship between YOUR
business (you) and the prospect who’s just arrived there?
Because from what I’ve seen in nearly 8 years of generating
traffic for clients, teaching and mentoring students… most people have a pretty
crappy unmaintained, badly planned garden…a dumping ground for copied blog posts
and promotions for everything under the sun.
There’s no identity to the website.
No consistent theme of topics or products.
Just an overgrown jungle of weeds and trash.
Honestly, does that sound like a place worth wasting traffic
Would you want to invite people there?
Lately a lot of people with awful websites that can’t sell a
dang thing have been asking me to drive traffic for them.
And it makes me cringe in pain to get those requests.
What’s a nice way to tell someone your website BLOWS BALLS,
it sounds like a great big scam, you’re a fraud, and I can’t in good conscience
send people to such a toxic place?
It’s sad. But it’s true.
If I had a dollar for every time I’ve seen someone promoting
a “how to make money online” product who can’t even afford to spend $10/day on
…or for everyone promoting “PPC traffic training and
consulting” who shamelessly asks me to help them with THEIR traffic…
…or for everyone promoting “personal development” when they
themselves are a lost soul.
What happened to good old fashioned regular businesses that
sell just what they’re good at?
I’m sick of this.
And I’m going to do something about it for THREE lucky
