The Customer is WRONG!

“Hey! No need to wait any more,” said the announcer.
“You can read about what happens in each episode before it’s shown at the following website…”
Well, jeez, I thought.
That’s pretty dumb.
Who would want that?
The announcement came during the closing credits of a popular Turkish TV series my wife’s been following for a couple of seasons.
My wife answered me…
“It makes as much sense as the people who
watch the last episode without having seen all 100 episodes of the story. People do that.”
The whole idea of a TV story series is to get your juices flowing in anticipation to want to know more. And tune in for the next episode.
Giving someone the
conclusion without the story defies the whole point of telling the story in the
first place!
I don’t care that the
“customer” wants this.
The customer is wrong.
Everyone online is
selling a “make money system” or “plug-n-play business”…
But is that smart?
Look, the whole point
of starting a business is to create something.
If someone was giving
out free million dollar businesses, I’d give it a miss. Not interested.
I want to be proud of
my creation.. I’d derive a lot more joy from seeing something simple I made pump
out $10 a day than to buy an already running business that is meant to earn thousands
a day.
Maybe it’s just me.
But I’d like to think there
are a few people still with entrepreneurial spirit who start a business for more than
money; people who take pride in creating and bringing to life something from
the depths of their mind.
Building a business should
be fun.
The joy is not in the
end result…it’s in the adventure of building the result. To see your creation working how it was intended to.
Look, I know. It’s not
fun to have debts and to be unable to afford the basics of life.
But hey, that’s what
jobs were created for.
Get one.
YOUR business needs care;
tending. You look after it, raise it, like your own baby. You can’t demand from it before
you’ve invested HARD into it.
Reminds me of when I
was a kid.
Everyone else loved to
play computer games and the latest toys their daddy bought them.
I learned programming
when I was 9 because I wanted to make my own Computer games.
I made my own electronic
toys; they were simple but they were mine.
Only one thing was a
little more fun than building electronics from scratch…and it was when I took a
trip down to Dick Smith.
There, I could buy a
complete kit with all the components necessary, circuit outlines, and
instructions to put a fun circuit together.
I soldered for hours.
That entertained me and I always ended up with something more exciting than my “from
scratch” projects. They worked; but I always had fun building them.
Which is why I made the
