Pros And Cons Of Having Children?

A reader asks…

“As an aspiring entrepreneur, what are the pros and cons of having children?”

Having a family depending on you WILL slow you down. But that doesn’t mean i am discouraging anyone from having kids.

Hear me out…

First off, i don’t think the issue is so much with having kids. It’s an issue of no longer being single and being the primary bread-winner and leader of a household, on whom people depend.

When you’re single, the only person you’re responsible for is yourself. And your BIGGEST problem is how to spend all that spare empty time.

If you’re building a business, you can put that empty time to good use.

When you’re not single, time is an extremely scarce resource and your biggest problem is finding enough of it to do all you have to do.

Singles can take risks much easier–even if you put everything on the line and lose it all, you can crash on your mate’s couch or in your mum’s basement until you’re back on your feet.

Imagine putting a wife through all that upheaval…let alone a child!

In fact, you’ll find your productivity peaks and your major career breakthroughs occur BEFORE having a family, before having children. Once you commit to a family you sort of plateau and only improve slightly and slowly.

If this all sounds like i’m suggesting you shouldn’t have children and if you have a family to immediately return them to sender…you misunderstand.

Having a family has its beautiful moments and it will bring you joys i cannot begin to explain. But if you are so far uncommitted, i suggest you go as HARD AS YOU CAN while you still can and accomplish everything you hope to do.

This is the best time to get things done and this window won’t be open forever. Neither will the family window–which you’ll want to start on soon.

On the other hand, if you have a family depending on you, you’ll need to work twice as hard with a fraction of the resources.

Which is why i built the Super Traffic Machine curriculum the way i did. It’s designed for people who have responsibilities and mouths to feed, school fees, bills, and mortgages to pay. People with little free time. People who can’t afford much risk.

For those people, the Super Traffic Machine is a low-risk, low-time commitment proposition. It gives you step by step instructions to build a side affiliate business…which once built, requires only a small ($5/day) daily allocation of money to keep traffic flowing unattended…and a small allocation of weekly time to write sales emails that convert your steady traffic into sales.

In return, you can build a business and earn from your work a substantial pay, putting you in a position to take bigger risks.
