heeeyyy, whats up?

reckon you could gimme your take on this?

you know Ray Higdon? well, he is cool, we speak sometimes and he said summin the other day that got me thinking, because it kinda goes against what alot of the ‘experts’ told me in my early days online

Ray said…

‘convert your focus to creating new relationships versus just find more prospects’

im sure you have heard, its all about numbers, just get more leads, yah? i personally know people who have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on leads with no sales which suggests that ‘the numbers game’ is flawed. the hardest part in all of this is getting your leads to send you their money right?

so the ‘relationship part is pretty important, even more so now that leads are harder to come by (for most people)

so how dya create that relationship? well, i will come to my thoughts on it later…

but first

i wanted to dig a little deeper into Ray’s status update, as it relates to other things that most people probably wont think about

in the hunt for leads, here is a trap people fall into, i did when i started too.

just do tons of articles

the more the better, use article spinners, take popular stuff from google and put it in your own words

wtf…

who wants to read that rehashed, thrown together crap?

its the reader you are trying to please, not the search engines.

i would far rather spend a week researching and putting something together thats actually worthy of someone taking a little time out of their schedule to read it

same with videos right?

so, to create the relationship, you need engagement, yah? i have 3 things in my head when producing content

entertain
educate
intrigue

just because someone reads your article and doesnt buy, does that mean it was a waste of time? not if you have done one of the above, there is a good chance they will be thirsty for more

now, of course you need prospects, and lots of them, but if ya cant make them send ya money, then its kinda silly! driving traffic in the ‘hope’ that they will buy can be costly 🙂

the theory of

‘wanna buy’?
uhm…no
‘ok next’

i dont like so much

as Ray says, build relationships, dont just drive traffic, thats probably why he makes a ton of money

whats your thoughts???
lots of love

ps, if you think im talking b****cks, dnt be scared to say 🙂

Brain Food for the Up-Late Marketer

I'm a creature of the night.
Since I was in high school, I preferred working when everyone else was asleep. Some how, the quiet of the night helps me be more productive and creative.
Of course, all the hard work makes me hungry!
If you were to ever visit me, you might be surprised to hear clanging of dishes, and pots and pans in the kitchen when I get the midnight munchies. My snacks are usually quick to make, light, and balanced. It's about the only way I keep healthy lately since I rarely get any exercise in the winter.
