you have no idea the number of times i’ve been screwed in this business.
and you’ll probably be screwed too. that’s just gonna happen. of course, you learn from your failures and do better next time. but if you’re smart, you learn from the mistakes of others and save your strength for the challenges that are uniquely yours.
after getting jibbed by the publisher of my first info product, i was determined to try again. so i talked to a friend, and we agreed to work together.
we put everything into this new product.
i was SCARY with tech and traffic. my friend was unrivalled in copywriting and sales strategy. and we were gonna rule the internet.
however, neither of us was particularly organised–creatives rarely are. but we had remarkable synergy. and our creativity was enhanced when we were around each other.
unfortunately, our lack of organisation spelled trouble.
i can’t say whether accidental or deliberate, but it seemed that all the business’s critical assets became under his control, one by one.
if we both had an account with something, he’d say, “let’s just use mine.” somehow, it was always easier and made more sense. and he was always eager to be the one to buy new services when we needed them.
anyway, we did our launch. hit our targets. shattered records. and we were hailed as heroes.
but i never saw most of the money.
which bothered me only a little bit. because the really shit part is that i knew i could NOT keep working with a guy on a business we built together if he couldn’t be honest enough to give me my share. he didn’t pay partners and employees, he did tricks to avoid paying out refunds, and i feared that he would tarnish my reputation for good.
in the end, i left with NOTHING.
the money we made? it was in his bank account.
the list we’d built and paid for together? it was in his account.
the domain name and website? he owned both.
the product that was at least half mine? it lived on his server.
i had no control of ANYTHING AT ALL!
eventually, i moved on from that partnership and started over. but the lesson i learned for all future ventures was which were the fundamental assets you cannot under any circumstances yield. and in a partnership, they must always be talked about up-front and their access shared.
you see, you can make a LOT of money online…it just won’t be for you.
if you don’t know the critical assets of an online business, and you don’t control them, someone else will get paid while you work like a donkey.
when someone tells you, “you can make money online without a website, product, or ordering system…just use mine. it’s EASIER”–they want you to be their donkey while collecting the money from your work. these things they’re saying you don’t need are the keys to controlling the critical assets of YOUR business.
they’re what make your business YOURS.
that’s what the Super Traffic Machine is designed to help you do.
it tells you the critical assets of a successful online business. then, it shows you how to create those assets or turn the tables so YOU control them.
and when the task seems “hard”, the Super Traffic Machine’s job is to make it EASY for you.
