A guys writes in today, somewhat angry at me.
Says:
“I don’t have time to scroll through an enormous sales pitch. I was looking for someone to drive a set amount of traffic to my articles. On Fiverr, for example, I can get 20,000 visitors to an article for $5. I was looking for a similar or better deal. If you can offer a better deal than 20k visitors for $5, let me know. Thanks.”
Sorry, I can’t offer a better deal.
20k @ $5? That’s a good deal, he should take it. Lol!
Let me ask YOU…
What kind of traffic do you think someone gets for $5?
Because I’ve consulted for clients who sell the whole “YouTube Views” thing…you know, like 10,000 views for $x. And the way they deliver that service is using SOFTWARE which games the YouTube view counter.
Never real people.
Of course, they’re totally open about this to customers, since there IS a certain “social proof” in having a high view-count on a YouTube Video.
But I’ve never seen anyone offering 10,000 FAKE YouTube hits for under $100.
Not on Fivver. Not my clients.
So can you imagine what 20,000 “visitors” really means when they cost only $5?
Very unlikely it’s 20,000 real people–just bots and software.
Unfortunately, that kind of “traffic”, has one little problem…
IT DOES NOT BUY!
And to be quite honest, I think the dude’s getting ripped off at $5. I wouldn’t take the deal even if they paid ME to let them send that kind of traffic.
It’s a waste of my bandwidth!
If you want to game a view counter on an article website, you can do it free: Hold down the F5 button (refresh) for about 5 minutes. You’re welcome.
You want traffic so you can translate it to money…by turning real human people visitors into customers (if you sell products), ad-clickers (if you sell ad space), or subscribers (if you rent out your mailing list).
And even if I’m TOTALLY wrong here–there is a remote possibility that I could be…
…An amateur, inexperienced, USELESS marketer, if he found someone willing to send him 20,000 REAL human, unique visits to his website for $5…he would have NO TROUBLE making back the $5 he spent so he can repeat it again and again.
He wouldn’t be joining this list hoping to find a “better deal”.
Heck I could’ve made a killing without selling a dang thing…just place Adsense banner ads around the article.
But unfortunately, an ad click from a bot isn’t worth a thing either.
My point is, if you have a way to monetize your traffic, and it works, you shouldn’t waste time chasing free, next-to-free, and “too good to be true” traffic.
Real traffic…
Real people…
Buyers…
They cost money.
And why shouldn’t they?
You’re “buying” CUSTOMERS at a discount.
So a word of advice for all you business hopefuls out there:
If it’s just “traffic” someone promises you, ask “WHO?”
“Who are they?”
“How do you collect them?”
“Where do they come from?”
“What are they interested in?”
Because depending on the answer to those questions, the traffic may or may not be worth your money.
Hey, what a fun coincidence…this is exactly what Traffic KickStart helps you do!
With KickStart, you learn to hand-pick the characteristics you care about…
You learn to get only the traffic that fits the profile of your best customers…
You get them in any volume you want (almost unlimited), while paying only the smallest, cheapest, lowest dollar that lets you profit…
And I even show you how to make your traffic pay for itself over and over with one simple little email formula that if you use regularly, you can multiply your sales 100’s of times over.
It’s been the one key difference that has enabled me and my clients to buy unlimited, targeted, focused traffic…and eventually get to a point where we don’t even care about the cost.
