Incomprehensible Ramblings of a Marketing Cinderella

“Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain – and most
fools do.”
I like that quote. Ben Franklin said it. Pretty much sums up
everyone I try to repel with my marketing.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not offended by critics. They do
more harm to themselves than to me.
Like the foolish subscriber who wrote in to chastise me for
my choice of language. “Don’t msg me with such words again!” she said.
I’m
sorry I offend thee, fair princess Cinderella.
But neither you nor she are hearing from me because I sought
you out.
Nay…it was you who sought expertise in online
marketing, and it was ME who filtered you with my advertising messages and let
you in because you passed the test.
Cinderella’s message was long, dull, and barely
comprehensible. A rambling response to my newsletter about the “lookey-loo
customer” from a couple days ago.
Seems I sprinkled salt on her wound.
Prodded a sensitive spot on the ole lookey-loo up her arse. Her
ramblings screamed proof that she had somehow been rejected by my latest filter.
What am I talking about?
The “QUALITY OF A SUBSCRIBER” filter.
Look…
I demand perfection of myself, how can I not demand the same
of my subscribers?
I don’t want critics and complainers. I want eager students
who want to learn traffic and marketing.
I want people who get that they’re not subscribed to me because they know a thing or two…but because I know a thing or two.
Not all traffic is of the same quality.
You might
advertise your business and get lots of traffic and maybe even bunches of leads…
..But the quality of people who discover your site, become
leads, and buy your products are a result of what you promise in every
communication you make.
Ads, landing pages, emails, sales pages…EVERYTHING is a
promise.
Make empty promises, and you will attract empty customers
who refund.
Hide your intentions in your landing page copy, and you will
attract leads clueless about why you’re following-up with them.
Give away your value free in email, and you will attract shytty
free-loaders.
It’s true.
Which is why I SEEM careless in my marketing. Too honest. Offensive. Repulsive even.
Maybe I should be nice, so more people would buy my shyt and
I’d have a subscriber-base of a gazillion people.
But NICE people are liars and hypocrites. They attract thieves and scum.
I don’t want a gazillion shyt quality people.
Yes, being straight-up in my ads will cause them to be clicked
less often. Telling visitors on my landing page that I will email daily will
cause it to convert less visitors into leads. And telling people why they should
NOT buy my products will get less sales.
But I don’t care.
Why?
Because this way, I pay for fewer visitors who won’t subscribe
when I declare my intent to sell to them. I get fewer leads who won’t buy when I
sell. And I sell my products to fewer losers who will fail with or without them.
Translation: reputation, repeat business, and a lot more
profit.
So what about you?
Do you like paying for empty clicks that don’t convert?
Do you enjoy showing off a subscriber-count that doesn’t
translate to customer count?
Do you like creating customers who feel burned and never trust
to spend with you again?
If you answer NO…then here’s where you learn what to do:
