KeymasterNick,
iContact doesn’t force you to reconfirm. it’s the only one i’m aware of that lets you do this. i just am not a fan of their billing system because they charge on subscribers and number of sends. you get 6 “free” sends in your subscriber package per month. then if you want more, you gotta buy a higher subscriber count package.
it’s a bit hard to explain.
but let’s say you have 4,000 people – so you buy the 5,000 subscriber plan. no probs.
as long as you only want to send 6 emails a month (which is lame btw).
if you want to send a daily message (so 30/month) then you need to do 4,000 x 30 / 6 = 20,000. So you need the 20,000 subscriber plan even though you only plan to have 4,000 subscribers.
but apart from that, they let you import your list no problem.

ParticipantYeah, that is the big issue indeed. I noticed that, too. And 6 emails a month is not my style. Besides that, my list is a lot bigger.
I also did check out options like Sendgrid and so on. You just get into the same problems. So at the moment I am hosting it myself till I find a better solution. At least I can still send my daily email that way.
Give us a shout if you do hear about one. I’d sincerely appreciate it.
Thanks for your answer, Jim!

ParticipantHey people! Kevin here.
My main interests are music, animation, and mixed martial arts. My main gig is corporate marketing and animation right now, but I’m looking to break out of that “trap” and go my own way. I have a master’s degree and can write very well, so I’m looking at business models that can leverage my talents there, in animation, and music, and create something out of that. I’m looking at a publishing business model, but need something that can scale. I took advantage of this training because it’s a no-brainer, and I’m glad I did as this was pure gold for me.

ParticipantHi All,
Thanks Jim and everyone for all the great information. I’m excited to keep learning and implementing new ideas.
Do any of you have recommendations of good public forum sites (or ways to find/assess) to start trying some Epidemic techniques?
Thanks,
Andrew

ParticipantHi everyone,
Osman here… from Bahrain. Just finished listening to the recorded telesminar yesterday. It was great, packed with lots of golden nuggets… it renewed my faith in blogging, social media marketing n a whole lot more!
My interests are diversified…. got formal education in Civil Engineering but now working as a Social Media analyst for a newspaper meanwhile exploring online biz models… PPC being top of the list. I enjoy writing too so I previously did a gig as a journalist/news reporter to see if your passion for writing necessarily means that you are a natural fit for journalism too… and the answer was a big NO. lol. I did freelance writing on Fiverr too for a while.
Jim is among the few gurus (the real ones, not the ones who sell snake oil) whom I listen to when it comes to online biz. So thanks Jim for putting up this training 🙂
Regards

ParticipantBesides being the tech guy and shipping department for The Wife’s eBay & Amazon business, I am fascinated by Direct Response Marketing andCopywriting.
Together my wife and I have been selling stuff online since early 1999. We have sold over 10,000 individual items on eBay alone.
(whew…that is a lot of dang packing and shipping now that I think about it)
I also actually enjoy Futzing around with Code and Web Design.
It is a love/hate relationship really. (If you have ever messed about with code – ya know what I’m talking about!)
Over the years I’ve designed and launched sites for senators, legislators and judges, sites for cafes, authors and artists, accountants, ministries and churches.
I am currently working on a training/membership site for launching your first WordPress web presence.

ParticipantHello, Jim, Jack, Dan, Paul Tyrone, Ewan and Carlos!
Ken Clark here, been following Jim since May and he is one of the few
people I really look forward to getting emails from, Thanks for that.
I started part time in IM back in ’96 to generate extra income
while I did the career thing. Starting with Affiliate marketing and
ended up creating a product to guide newbies in Niche Marketing.
Been pretty much out of it for a few years now and currently gearing
up to start from scratch with a new business model I have been
working on with a new Plan.
The teachings of Jim Yaghi and a couple other relatively new names in the
biz will be added to the foundational evergreen models I use to form this new
venture. With that said, I’m sure it will all go well.
I look forward to hearing from you all and getting to know you better
in the coming months..
Ken

ParticipantHey guys,
My name is Nick. Another Dutchie here and I’ve been playing this wonderful game for over 10 years of which 8 years fulltime. During that time I built a big mailinglist in a very speciic yet popular niche market. (if anyone knows a autoresponder or SMTP I can use without reconfirming my subscribers, do let me know! :))
My interests are IM, football (soccer for you Americans), reading, writing and enjoying life (broad, I know :)).
I am launching a new product in my market. So the techniques from the “Traffic Epidemic” definitely come at the right time.
For the rest, looking forward to having fun with you guys and exchanging information.
And oh… thanks Jim for this class. I sincerely enjoyed it!
Nick
