Let me piss on Mobile
Ads for a minute.
…Mobile ‘n Social… …Mobile ‘n Social… …Mobile ‘n Social… say all the analysts and the usual business
hype-artists.
Guess what.
Nearly HALF the clicks
on mobile ads are ACCIDENTAL! HAHAHA!!!
That’s a true number; I
looked it up in an actual study by Harris Interactive.
And then check out
what this douche said in Entrepreneur Magazine:
“All existing mobile ad platforms are
designed for enterprise companies.
“Companies that can absorb the cost of
accidental clicks.”
Friggin’ gronk.
You believe this bull?
ou can say the same thing about any pay-per-click advertising
platform under the sun.
There’s always some
excuse that people who can’t get a Return on Investment with PPC are using to
justify their failure.
Accidental clicks,
bots, click-fraud, whatever.
But nobody said that internet-based
advertising had to remain accessible to the little guy forever, ok.
When television
commercials were invented, the small guy was able to get in on that too at first.
The
fortunes of today were made back then.
Whenever an ad
medium proves effective, the smart business gets in, turns a GIANT profit, and
reinvests into advertising.
They grows the SHYT
out of their ad budget, so they can keep nailing the bejevus out of that medium
which is working, no matter how the cost goes up. And they suck all the
business they can out of it forever.
Since they’re buying
up all the ad spots, they become the big guy.
“The little guy” is the one can’t afford to stay in the game and compete. He’s squeezed
out.
And nobody gives a
crap about the little guy, cause he ain’t jack.
If a person can’t
scale their customer base, then they’re the biggest fugking idiot alive.
So what if mobile ads
are wasting half your budget on accidental clicks?
Consider it necessary
waste. You’re not paying for it.
Make your customer pay
for it!
They already pay for
the cost of producing your product, the time you spend on it, the research, the
development, your wonderful lifestyle, and everything else. Why not the cost of wasted clicks and getting more customers too?
It’s the only way you
can scale and grow your ad budget.
Internet advertising
will NOT stay this cheap forever.
Grow your ad buget while you can. It’s why I don’t sweat the
small waste.
