Ugh! I hate when the gas runs out.
The heaters run on gas, the stove runs on gas. Comfortable life comes to a halt when the gas runs out.
Friggin’ bottled LPG.
Can’t refill your bottles at a gas station or exchange like in New Zealand. No. You have to wait for your friendly Egyptian to swing by with his ice-cream truck tune, hail him down, and have him wander into your home to replace your bottles.
Swear to god.
That’s why I keep a spare cylinder around the house. Many a time it saved us from a long cold night.
It’s called contingency planning.
CON-TIN-GEN-CY…that’s a big word, ay?
Contingency planning is when you make a second plan for what to do when things don’t go according to your first plan.
Like, a friend of mine who recently told me about his assistant going missing for a while. Some family emergency. Everything was in her hands, contacts, records, calendars, everything–and when she was gone my friend wasn’t able to do a darn thang. He even lost a 600,000$ account!
It would be a disaster if Penny disappeared from YaghiLabs for just one DAY!
As of this month, YaghiLabs has a BACK-UP assistant. Penny 1 and Penny 2. Heck yeah!
Countless HORROR stories make a good case for making contingency plans a habit!
People who lost their primary advertising account (Google ban anyone?),
People whose launch server crashed
And people who got their merchant accounts shut down.
At YaghiLabs we believe that one thing is CERTAIN online–You can’t rely on anything. Technology fails, people fail, rules fail. All you can do is plan for every eventuality–the ones you can think of and the ones you can’t.

We help you find the points of potential failure in your marketing plan and how to protect yourself.
Even the traffic campaign we build you, although we say it’s for Microsoft Adcenter (let’s face it, they’re super easy-going), we actually build following Google’s much stricter rules–in case you ever decide to run our campaign on Adwords.
But gosh I wish I was as good at making contingency plans with our home-heating needs as I am at business.
You know what’s worse than your best plans failing?
When the backup plan fails too.
See, we ran out of gas late last night.
To make matters worse it snowed.
And I woke up long after sunset – when the gas man no longer plays the ice-cream tune.
Only to find, the backup bottle was also empty…
