Does this traffic site "Rip off" people?

What’s the point of traffic you can’t sell to?
…Or, for that matter, a sales lead that’s not really “open”
to your sales message?
Nothing.
Most people think leads have some kind of inherent
value. Like leads = money.
Just because a lead is someone who raised their hand
saying they want to hear more from you, doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll ever
buy…
Or that they’re even prepared to buy. Shortly, i’ll prove it to you…
But this was not the experience of Matthew Hamel, who learned
the Traffic KickStart method recently. Check out the Facebook message he sent
me on Thursday:
“Hey Jim,
“Thought I’d let
you know.. I wasn’t gettin any conversions [before] because all my ads had
broken links and sent visitors to a 404 error.. Any who, after 2 days with
proper links, we made our first sale!! $90 spent for a $1,500 sale!! Thanks
again for the kickstart!!!”
You’re welcome Matt!
That’s what happens when you get QUALITY traffic and
QUALITY leads. And you can learn to do that when you get KickStart
here:
http://jimyaghi.com/TrafficKickStart
Now to keep my promise. This funny story shows you why sometimes, even when you think you have “quality leads”, you don’t.
Recently, a guy writes to me angrily, saying:
“I’ve heard your
site rips people off. So leave me alone.”
No reasoning with this guy!
But it’s odd. Of course what he said is NOT true…We run a
legitimate operation and neither I nor anyone else who has ads running on
Google would be allowed to advertise longer than a day if Google suspected any fraudulent
activity.
We’ve been on there for YEARS.
In any case, i checked to see the date of him joining our
free newsletter.
About 3 minutes earlier!
Why would he sign up to the newsletter in that case?
3 minutes and a welcome email, isn’t long enough to so drastically change your mind about something.
My phone dings a second message. It’s him again:
“Be honest. Do you
rip people off?”
Now I’m curious. Was there really someone out there who was
unhappy with one of our products or services spreading bad worth-of-mouth?
I responded:
“No. Of course we’ve
never ripped anyone off. Who did you hear that from?”
He replies matter of factly, “I always check these things online. And I found
websites that said you’re a rip off.”
Weird!
Our online reputation is impeccable and it’s important to us. I carefully
monitor everything.
I’ve had Google Alerts setup since I started online marketing. It notifies me whenever someone mentions me, my product names, or our
website in any web content. Positive or negative.
And I’ve only ever seen positive reviews or neutral mentions.
His whole story was hard for me to believe. Honestly, I started
suspecting he was some prankster playing a trick on me.
I asked for the link.
Lo and behold! As i suspected, it was a Google Search Results page.
But the search query was, “Clickbank complaints”!
WTF!
Clickbank is NOT my product and has nothing to do with me.
He seems to have been searching for something else and turned
up one of our pages (thank you SEO!)
On the basis of that, he decided we were somehow related.
But even IF I was associated with Clickbank, they run a
legitimate, heavily-moderated marketplace, like Amazon or eBay. Thousands of publishers
list their products there and the site policy is to give refunds (on behalf of
publishers) for up to 60 days, just so there is NEVER any customer
dissatisfaction.
That’s a far cry from being a “scam”.
I figured this guy is really new to the internet.
When was the last time you ran a search for ANYTHING on
Google and it said, “No results found”?
Google gives results for anything. Even crazy searches like,
“Why is poop brown”.
Why wouldn’t it give results on things like, “mother teresa scam” (apparently she’s a fraud now!)
Not only that, but many marketers, sometimes competitors AND
sometimes fans, they optimize their websites and write content around the
names of other people and brands in the same market and they target keywords like “scam”, “review”, and “complaint” JUST to divert traffic to them.
Even if you search for “jim yaghi complaint”, you will find
results…
But they’re all written by misguided fans of ours, who use a
negative title to attract attention, and then turn the corner on the reader to
say how GREAT our products are and how much they recommend them!
All this is beside the point…
After a bit of back and forth, he explains that he has $105
dollars and he’s saving to buy a laptop…he was looking online for a way to get the
rest of the money he needs.
WOAHH! Wrong website. Wrong guy.
Talk about being a mark for every “business opportunity” fraud-uct out there 🙂
Clearly this is NOT someone who is in my target audience. Our
target is entrepreneurs who have websites and
NEED traffic, not broke people who need money for laptops.
Now, I want you to think for just a minute…
A landing page is a qualifier page that filters out bad
quality “hits” from people who have no interest in your products, usually by requesting their
contact details for “more information”.
When someone gives their details, they are saying they have some
interest in your product’s general topic and give you permission to contact
them.
So if that guy was the quality of person who still came through,
EVEN WITH a qualifier page between him and us…can you imagine how poor the
quality of …and how much traffic… that single page TURNED AWAY before him?
Imagine what kind of person might just click your ad out of
curiosity or by accident even…
Or what kind of person might run a search, see your website
in the results, and click it because it SEEMED relevant at the time.
Or what kind of person you might get if you use a traffic
exchange or buy “hits” in bulk for pennies from some unknown source…
Or when you buy lists of emails and names…
AWFUL.
That kind of traffic and leads are useless. You can’t sell
to it. It’s a waste of money to pay for it. And it’s a waste of time to work on
it.
Which is why I teach the Traffic KickStart method. It’s not
for people who just want hits at their site. It’s for people who need BUYERS.
KickStart qualifies your traffic and ensures you get buyers
at a profit, just like Matthew Hamel did.
Imagine how many people he needed to turn away in order to find
someone willing to spend $1,500 on his solution.
Would YOU have had the money and willingness to spend that
amount of money on his product?
My point is, those are SMALL odds. But KickStart put the odds in Matt’s favour.
With KickStart, he ensured that he never paid for useless
“hits” from people who can’t afford to buy, won’t buy, or don’t have an
interest or need for his product….
Not just that. With a little more follow up, Matthew will find
even more buyers in the same pool of leads he got for $90, and he won’t need to spend
another cent getting them.
He’ll also be able to make more money from the buyer he did
get, by selling other relevant products to him/her and that person is more
likely to buy again if they have a good experience with his product.
That’s the KickStart Method. It works. And it works good. It
gets quality traffic for any offer. It turns the sales odds of traffic in your favour.
