The Unusual Tale of Mr. Angry UN-Subscriber

“PLEASE REMOVE ME FROM YOUR LIST! I have no interest in your offer.”

Yeah. You’re feelin’ fired up!
I know this. Because, if you’ve ever sent out a broadcast to your mailing list, you got that exact same one-line email from some douche.
Makes you feel like shit, doesnt it?
I hate it. I want so badly to just write back “EFF YOU”. Luckily, i’ve been blessed with the longest fuse god ever gave man. So by the tips of my fingers, i manage to hold myself, unsubscribe them manually through gritted teeth and some choice verbal swears, and then i delete that message with passionate disgust so I NEVER have to see it again.
That … is ….

NOT a nice way to feel!

If you get mad, i understand. That email of such few words adds insult to injury.
On the one hand, one of the leads you spent time and money generating, you just found out they didn’t like you. And you’re one more lead down.
Feels frustrating. Especially in the beginning. Because it seems so much easier to lose prospects than it is to get them.
But it’s just OUTRIGHT INSULTING, when some bitter person gets mad and decides to take the time to write an email, choose you as their victim, and intentionally spread their “anger” like a disease.

Woah…chill dude.

What’s with the attitude? Take yourself off the list. I don’t have time for this.
If you’re like me, you make no effort to hide the unsubscribe link. It’s directly after every single email. Other people like to bury their unsubscribe link at the very very bottom of their messages
…but not me.
I even chose the phrasing, “to be removed from this list”. I want people to know that this is the link to click if you wanna be removed.
The worst part is, that those rude and angry emails, make it hard for you to send out your next broadcast.
Have you felt that way before? Where you totally second-guess your whole approach, and wonder if you are really emailing too frequently? Or maybe you should send more free stuff?

Anger turns to hesitation. and then Fear.

What to do?
Well, here’s my take on the whole subject…
If you usually read my posts or you’ve bought anything from me in the past, you already know that the reason you subscribe to my emails is…

My Emails Save You TIME

And i appreciate that and love you for it.
You see, I want to teach you how to be a good marketer like me.
To do that, i have to show you what worked for me. i assume you’re here because you want to draw on my experience. Don’t you believe you can avoid wasting time and money by hearing from me, first-hand about what works and what doesn’t.
So if i say, hey John (or Jane), i tried PPC and it worked.
I’ve just saved you from guessing. You don’t have to go try a million different ways to get traffic. Because if there’s one thing i’m absolutely certain of is that PPC works.

Here i am. Living proof.

My responsibility as a trainer and teacher, at least the way i see it, is not to preach and lecture. It’s to set a good example you can follow.
We all learn better from demonstration and imitation.
So i have to actually DO what i teach and PROVE it works really well. I’m supposed to be my teaching’s own perfect example.

A worked example.

Suppose, i tell you,

“create a squeeze page in this way and collect leads from it”.

I am collecting leads the exact same way. Without any fancy expensive software or employees.
i tell you,

“build a relationship with your list”.

What am i doing in every email i send you? I try to give you value and entertainment to build our friendship.
i tell you,

“educate, sell, and track your list”. I am doing that every time i write to you.

So yes, Mr and Mrs Angry Unsubscriber.

You might not be interested in our offers but there are other people who look to us for leadership.

Did I Step On Your Cat?

Ever notice how the Angry Unsubscriber usually seems genuinely offended that you’re selling?
It’s like they wait around, perfectly content to keep receiving your emails as long as they’re useful, entertaining, and free…but as soon as you have something to sell,
… they think they have an open license to be rude!
I think it’s their sense of entitlement and it bugs me.
Most employee-type personalities do that thing…

Douchebags Are All Around Us

Like I popped over to KFC for lunch yesterday and remembered why i hadn’t eaten there in years. But anyway there was this guy and he was holding up the queue asking the manager to “work something out” for his order. Translation: “give me a discount”. He figured by taking this “big” order (in his opinion) he was entitled to save a couple of bucks from the posted price. Which, if we’re talking entitlement, then KFC has the right to get the full posted price.
And you could see it in his face, that he was one of those guys who would go to work and boast to his buddies about how he saved $3 by out-smarting the just-above-minimum-wage “manager” of the branch. Friggin bully.
Those emails are written by douchebags.
They act as if you should apologise…for stepping on their cat…i mean for selling.

Excuse me?

If i don’t sell, i make no money. And no one will CARE about what i do, since there’s no proof it works. What use is a squeeze page designed this way, or a newsletter written that way, or this keyword technique or that ad strategy….if none results in money?
Why would you want to follow my example if i have no evidence that it’s working or will ever work?
You need to be able to trust my example.
So if i expect you to take my word and use PPC for traffic, then i gotta be the one who:
– took the risk FIRST.
– Tested PPC with my own money when i had very little.
– and proved it makes money
All this, before i could start dishing out advice about it.
…and ya know what else?
It’s my DUTY to keep makin’ sales and money. Because it gives you confidence in ME and confidence in yourself to learn…so you can go forth fearlessly.
When i tell you that i get leads and prospects and traffic from PPC, i’m telling you what works. And you’d be a fool to think that this is a “personal opinion” and to dismiss my advice.


I am telling you, i am here today, in a position to teach others how to make money on the internet, because i have done it first. And I know for a fact that…
