4 Types of Businesses, Doomed to Never Find Traffic

Subscribers often write to ask if Traffic KickStart will
help them get traffic for their specific business.
Like the email below:
“I am a funeral
home in the Pittsburgh area, trying to build up my cremation business. Can [KickStart]
help me in any way?”
My answer to most who ask this kind of question is, “Yes”.
But there are some businesses I wouldn’t recommend KickStart
to.
Not because KickStart as a traffic method won’t work.
Nor is it because the traffic for that kind of business doesn’t
exist…
But because their business model itself is fundamentally
flawed. And even if they use the KickStart Method, the traffic just won’t make
money.
See, KickStart is a strategy for how to use a certain type of
popular web-based advertising platform.
KickStart itself doesn’t “bring traffic”.
Your choice of network is what supplies the traffic…KickStart
is the method you use to drive it and make money from it.
So what kind of Ad Networks does KickStart work with?
Search- AND Banner-based platforms which offer a Pay-Per-Click
advertiser-billing model.
Examples?
Search-based ad networks include, Google, YouTube Search, Bing, and Yahoo
Banner-based ad networks include, Facebook, LinkedIN,
YouTube (in-video ads), all Google Adsense Properties, and Bing Content
properties.
KickStart is working today, with all of these networks.
As long as you can identify the people you want, either from
SEARCHES they run…or websites they use, it will help you operate all of these ad
networks effectively…
No matter how obscure your business is…
No matter how “niche”…
No matter how “local”…
So for a business like the Funeral home business…and most local businesses, it will definitely help.
What KickStart does is let you get as much traffic as you
want even if you’re starting with an embarrassingly small budget, because it keeps growing your ad budget.
It’s designed with the philosophy that if you get
traffic that pays for itself, then you can keep buying traffic forever.
Makes sense, right?
But this is also why I don’t recommend KickStart to certain people.
Because what they want to advertise can’t possibly earn enough
money to pay for itself.
For example, if you promote:
* An affiliate
program directly without adding any value of your own
* An arbitrage site
or program that pay you to bring to them views or visits (instead of sales or
leads)
* A page on someone else’s highly traffic’d website who need from you only content (eg,
Amazon, Clickbank, Adsense, Empowernetwork)
* Get rich quick
offers, and other businesses that pose legal risk to an ad network
Note, these are NOT product constraints. They are BUSINESS MODEL constraints.
Meaning, the products themselves (the affiliate products,
amazon books, make money programs, and business opportunities) can be promoted
and can get unlimited traffic with the help of KickStart…
BUT the way they intend to turn traffic into money is not smart.
The good news though, is that with a little modification to the business model, they can become profitable.
An example may illustrate this better:
Let’s say you are an Amazon author and you want to promote
your book.
Amazon pays YOU the author, a 30% royalty per sale through
their store… and they impose a $10 price-point on you.
That’s $3 for you. $7 for them in the best case.
In turn, you sign an agreement to license them the right to
profit from YOUR intellectual property.
And as long as they pay you the agreed-upon royalty for every
sale they generate, THEY get to sell your book, rent it out, give it away free,
and make money from it however they want.
From a business stand-point then, the business model of “driving paid traffic to your amazon listing to sell more of your book” is a losing model.
It makes no sense to spend your 30% royalty to advertise THEM. They pay you 30% as their cost to profit
from your intellectual property.
Traffic is their job. Not yours.
So yeah, KickStart can help bring traffic to your
Amazon store. But you will waste your royalty on it and benefit nothing.
Amazon has a busy website, full of buyers. You should be
using THEM as one source of traffic…not the other way around.
Then what can you do to adapt your business model in this
case? How can you really gain the full benefit of the KickStart method?
Easy.
If you have a personal website, promote THAT as the book’s
author.
Difference is, the traffic you send there is EXCLUSIVELY
yours.
You can build a fan-base of your own, and put
them all on a mailing list.
And that doesn’t mean you can’t promote your Amazon store to
them once they’re on your list. But when you pay for the traffic, you should at least OWN it exclusively.
Here’s the real power of doing this:
Every time you sell your book on Amazon to your subscribers,
you elevate your Author Profile and increase the popularity of your book.
Amazon will recommend your book more often and send you more
buyers from THEIR traffic.
And when you publish your next book, you don’t start again from
scratch.
You write to your subscribers, and say, “Hey, buy my new book!”
The result?
Overnight, you could be on the Amazon Best-Seller list.
Their platform is designed to highlight any book that seems to be “organically”
popular…and send it more buyers. You earn more royalties, you get lots more
traffic, and you can even make your website more popular, by advertising it inside your book!
See?
Same product…different business model.
One loses money. The other makes money.
One gets no traffic. The other can buy as much as it needs.
You can adapt almost any of the business models above in the same way.
And if you don’t
mind adapting your model, then you should definitely learn KickStart. And we’ll help you inside.
That’s what KickStart is all about. It brings you traffic
and makes you profit.
