Do you have a small “ecommerce” website and a nearly
non-existent ad budget?
What if I told you, there’s a way to grow your traffic
Mostly for free…
And only with a few basic modifications to your website?
So the other day, a subscriber sent me her website…which
honestly was quite impressive. She creates her own jewelry and sells it in her
small online store.
Problem is, she doesn’t have a big budget to advertise. And
she wanted my advice.
Here’s what i told her:
First, add a blog tab.
Static websites are so “90’s”… and they get very little
You can call the tab News, Updates, or anything else. You
don’t have to call it a “blog”.
But I think every good website, no matter what niche or
product, should have some dynamic content that is updated every day.
Search-Engines favours two things- 1) Big websites and 2)
Most importantly though, dynamic, regularly updated websites
give people a reason to be interested in your website BEFORE and BEYOND the
Even if they’re not buying right now, fresh content keeps
you top of mind, so that when the time is right and they are thinking about
buying that “special gift”, they will think of you.
Secondly, add a newsletter signup box on the blog.
A newsletter may not always be relevant for an ecommerce site,
but it’s ALWAYS relevant next to a blog.
Web Marketers trump on “Unique Visitors”, and I need
so-and-so number of “uniques”…but the money is in REPEAT VISITORS. And a
newsletter is the best way to get people who casually browsed your website once…to
repeat their visit over and over until they buy.
It doesn’t have to take up your time either.
Just copy the same text you post on your blog and email it
to the newsletter. At the end of the message, always make up a reason to send
em back to your store with a direct call to action.
Thirdly, install Google’s Conversion Tracking.
Conversion Tracking helps Google always remember which types
of people become customers.
With the help of the KickStart method, next time Google sends
you a visitor who buys, Google will remember this and bring you more of the
Even with a small budget, this increases your sales
exponentially and could make a lot more money.
Finally, use the Traffic KickStart Method. (duh!)
It gives you consistency.
A friend of mine profits over $300,000 a year by selling a
relatively low-cost product…and the only traffic he gets is about 15 new leads
He gets them DAILY and that’s the difference.
Free traffic is great, but it’s rarely ever consistent. But
combine it with a little paid advertising…and something amazing happens!
You get new visitors every day for a cost…and then the
organic traffic becomes “icing on the cake”. It offsets that cost.
A smart marketer always uses both; paid and free traffic.
Paid traffic gets consistency…and free traffic gets “bang
for your advertising buck”.
So, what are you waiting for? Get new people every day with
the KickStart Method:
It gives you consistency of traffic–even with a small
And it teaches Google to send buyers.
Get KickStart, and I’ll see you inside!
