Getting UNSTUCK when you've already learned plenty of ONline Marketing

A frustrated subscriber writes…
“I have been around a while and made some money here and there, I am currently mapping out plans for what I feel could be life changing online business. I’m not really quite sure how I want to set it up, I would greatly appreciate some advice.
“I also am an affiliate for numerous things such as magnetic sponsoring, elevation group, Jbudds stuff, deagans stuff, GRN (big ticket travel), Ryan deiss’s local stuff, but honestly I just got kinda sick of promoting other people. I want to build my brand but don’t know where to start! But I do know for a fact that I want to learn from u! You just make perfect sense!
“I got stuck in learning mode and feel like I know way more than all these people making 5 and 6 figures a month, I have some connections and I want this like yesterday!
“Don’t know where to start, I’m kind of an OCD perfectionist, I was thinking maybe I’ll take advantage of Traffic KickStart!
“I want to start completely from scratch and use it to start promoting all the aforementioned things to start generating some cash flow to help outsource and launch my personal business and brand and also I have some amazing ideas for apps!
“What do u think? I know I’m following u for a reason, I get emails from the best of the best, and scroll right passed them all to read yours first!
“Please help, im so f’ing frustrated!! I honestly get a little nauseated seeing how some people run their businesses, not being cocky but I’m pretty damn smart and just need a confident shove in the right direction! I would greatly appreciate any advice u could give me” – Jason.
Do you feel like this?
You know, overburdened with CHOICE. Too many possibilities and no idea where to begin?
Like you’ve got so much potential, plenty to offer…but you’re crippled and unable to get started?
Believe it or not, this feeling is very common in my line of work.
The underlying issue is that most people never learned the skill of independent learning.
I mean, in traditional education, your teacher has a curriculum and uses it to direct your learning. Telling you what to learn first and what to learn next. The objectives are not things the student is privy to.
But when you strike out on your own, as an adult trying to learn, you have to design your own curriculum.
And this is why so many people get stuck.
But here’s how to get unstuck…
Something I learned as a postgrad research student is how to direct my own learning.
And it’s simply by learning ONLY what you need RIGHT NOW…and rejecting everything else.
So if the one thing you need today is traffic, you learn traffic and ONLY traffic.
If you’ve got traffic, but you don’t have sales, you learn sales and ONLY sales.
And so on.
This way, you don’t get sidetracked with new ideas that aren’t directly relevant to what you’re working on now. You stay focused…and all your experimentation gives you deeper experience JUST where you need it.
It’s what’ve always done…
If right this moment, I’m trying to solve some personnel/employee handling issues…I might read a book or two on management.
And if a really sexy new course comes out on SEO, even if it’s being given away free, I would NOT get it.
The course might teach me something useful…but it could also sidetrack me and make me go “fix something” that’s not even broken!
And I’d still be stuck with my personnel issue.
Jason has a number of affiliate products he can sell…He doesn’t have a “product” problem right now.
He has a sales and traffic problem.
Start by asking yourself what is YOUR special contribution that none of the products you’re an affiliate for already does?
Is it the TYPE OF PEOPLE you offer these products to?
Or is it your UNIQUE WAY of offering the information to those people?
Or is it the special newsletter you use that people scroll right past everything else to read every day?
I can’t tell you or Jason what your contribution is going to be…but if you plan to be an affiliate, you have to do more than JUST send traffic into an offer.
From a business standpoint…it makes no sense. A business has to do something different to succeed otherwise it’s doomed right from the start.
The easiest ways is to just target a very different audience from what the publisher already does (since thousands of affiliates are failing going after the same audience).
Don’t join them in failure. Target a new set of people.
All jason’s products are targeted at people who want to make money from home…
What if he targeted chiropractors who want to market their clinics…
Or restaurant owners who want more visitors at their restaurants…
Or independent book authors who want to sell more books…
All he needs to do once he’s decided, is to create a newsletter that sells these products (or some combination of them) to that audience.
