If you’ve ever used Google Adwords and have since lost your
account, LISTEN UP!
This question came in from one of your fellow subscriber in that
same unfortunate position and the following will help you get your account
“I got banned from
google adwords a couple years ago. I was
direct linking to something back in the day (I was young and naive). What would be my first step in trying to get
my google account unbanned?” — Eddys.
I’ve probably answered this question over 1,000 times since
And I understand the frustration.
It’s like, Google is always hailed as the MOTHER OF ALL
TRAFFIC. Everyone who ever built a successful business online got their traffic
Back in the days, little people rose to the top of the
leader boards of affiliate programs and fortunes were made just with Adwords
traffic. But ALL OF THEM WERE USING IT WRONG.
How can everyone be so wrong and still make so much money?
Well, they’re all nowhere today. But I’m still standing and
so are my people.
In fact, through my guidance quite a few people have got VERY
badly banned accounts re-instated. I mean, their violations were LAW SUIT type
stuff…but they’re back on.
It’s been super frustrating for me that whenever I try to
teach people how to use Adwords properly, I end up being tech support for people
who’ve been banned from Google and want to get their accounts back.
But it’s all part of the job. It’s cool.
I’ll tell you what to do now…Then the onus is on YOU to take
my recommendations and run with them.
If you really want to get your Adwords account back, the
first thing you need is go out and get a TRUCK LOAD OF PATIENCE.
Most people will make one or two attempts, lose interest,
start cursing Google…then give up…until the next PPC training program comes out…when
their interest gets resurrected again. Don’t do that.
Be ready to stick it out till the end. Google’s traffic is
SO WORTH IT.
Fixing something requires that you find out what’s wrong
So the next step is to find out the EXACT reason you got
The generic email they send with the reason for suspension
doesn’t count – it lacks the detail you need to make repairs. Get the details
by talking to Google’s support.
But here’s the thing…
Most of them won’t talk to you if you’re banned. You’ll be
told to go away.
So you have to be VERY persistent and keep trying until you
get someone willing to be a bit more helpful.
Since most people don’t have the patience for this and we
already have the relationships in place…we actually offer a service to help
diagnose banned Google accounts. But it’s not cheap…unless you’re a member of
KickStart members can have us take care of this step for
them for a seriously low price.

Please note, you don’t NEED us to do this step for you. You
can do it yourself if you want. You just might prefer we take care of it since
we’ll be faster since we’ve done it so many times already.
Once you know the EXACT reason(s) you were banned…you begin
Usually this means bringing in specific pages that were in
violation, back into compliance.
This is easy, and KickStart has a walk-thru of what you need
to have in place at your website to stay compliant and safe. These are good
practices to know for ANY ad network, not just Google…since all ad networks share
most of the same policies.
But if you’re unlucky…it’s not going to be that straightforward.
Eddys said he was direct linking. This means, most likely the
violations that got him banned weren’t HIS.
The affiliate program owners or other advertisers who were
promoting the same product were the ones in violation. And unfortunately Google
will STILL expect any site you ever advertised with your account to be brought
into compliance before they’ll consider re-instating your account…
Regardless whether you own the domain and have control over
You won’t know for sure if you’re lucky or unlucky without
going through Step #2 though. The reasons for suspension aren’t always as you
might expect and just because you THINK you got banned for direct linking doesn’t
mean that’s why you got banned.
In fact, direct linking is NOT against Google’s policy.
It’s totally legal and ok to do…you’re more likely to be in
trouble if you had sent traffic to your own domain or a cloaked domain and then
redirected to an affiliate site.
In any case, if the violations weren’t yours, this requires
some very delicate handling.
You have to convince the Review staff to give you a chance.
And I’m gonna be honest with you, this can take months. But
again, it’s all worth it in the end.
If ALL else fails, you got nothing to lose. It’s time for
Create a new account under someone else’s name and payment details.
Eg, a spouse or relative…
BUT here’s where you wanna be careful.
Most people will start a new account, get fresh details and
everything and then go right back to advertising a website that is in violation
all over again…
They advertise incorrectly and get sent right back to Square
So how do you fix this?

Because editorial policies are NOT just about a landing page…they’re
about the website…they’re about the product… they’re about HOW you advertise….and
they’re about what you say in your ads.
They’re pretty simple to follow. But you’ve gotta follow the
KickStart tutorial to do it right and leave behind all the ideas taught to you
before by the idiots who got you banned the first time.
