This is a pet-peeve of mine…
What’s the bet you’re doing it?
It’s so ANTI TRAFFIC, so ANTI BRANDING, so ANTI SALES!
I’m talking about how marketers always seem to be maintaining
MULTIPLE websites and domains.
“This domain is for
“And this is my
“And this is for
another niche I’m working on…”
Good job. They’re all making no money and getting no
Let me ask you…how many popular brands do you know that
maintain multiple websites?
Facebook has ONE website. Facebook dot com.
Twitter has ONE. Twitter dot com.
Google has TENS of products for all kinds of stuff…mail,
search, adwords, adsense, docs, analytics…they all run off the SAME domain
Google dot com.
So why does every marketer think they need to have 8 different
websites they never get around to posting content to?
They’re head-munted. Confused and unfocused!
Can’t run a business like that.
If you’re spread thin, you traffic is spread even thinner.
Here’s an idea…
Put ALL your content in one place.
All your products.
I don’t care how unrelated they are…the only thing they need
to have in common is that your brand promotes them, creates them, or represents
You leverage the good-will you get with existing customers
to sell MORE of your other products and get more money from the same customers.
I mean, if the products are all on the same website, customers who like you
will explore and buy some of your other stuff.
Direct ALL your traffic into that ONE single website…and all
those dribbles add up, kinda like Captain Planet says, “When your five powers
Thing is, if the issue was just websites, I wouldn’t care.
But if you’re not making money from ANY of them, why keep
Get one producing then branch out if you still feel the need
(you won’t, once you see the power of keeping your efforts focused in one place!)
Worse…the same unfocused mentality kills their ability to
get Traffic from Adwords and Bing.
This past week i did account critiques for two different clients…
And it’s UGLY in there.
Traffic is CHOKED. Expensive. And hard to maintain.
They’re obsessed over split-testing ads, landing pages, and
dropping click cost…but the solution to all their problems was ACCOUNT
Organisation of an ad account may not seem like a big deal…
But if you use the ridiculous criteria most people are organizing
their campaigns over, you create unnecessary complication that translates to
Like how quickly and efficiently your advertising budget
How cheap you can get your leads.
How quickly you get traffic that buys.
And how easily you can figure out what’s going on with the
traffic so you can take actions that SAVE money and make more PROFIT.

to use some of the powerful automation features that could make traffic
