How to Write a Facebook Ad

Have you ever considered advertising on Facebook?
They offer a Pay-Per-Click ad program.
What that means is, you can have your ad seen by up to 1.11
billlion users a month…and you won’t pay a single red cent unless someone
clicks.
Even then…
You decide how much or how little a click
is worth to you–and Facebook, like all PPC networks, will only show your ad when it can get you clicks at the price you want.
That’s pretty cool.
But like all topics of online marketing, you’ll find
plenty of bad advice for free in the forums.
For example, check out this misguided chap who thought he’d get
free leads by starting a forum thread with the following recommendation:
“To get you ad
approved on facebook is totally different from Google. You can’t promise something
or the ad will be disapproved.
“Example of a bad
ad: make 2000 dollars and get 2000 leads in one month (promise )
“Example of good ad:
Learn step by step how I made 2000 dollars while getting 2000 leads in one
month (story)
“Tell a story
instead of promising something, and your ad might get approved hope this helps
.”
Both ads are bad.
The big issue with Facebook is that their staff manually review all ads, before allowing them to run.
And you may have to wait from a few hours…to a few days for them to get around to it.
Because it’s HUMAN review, it tends to be inconsistent.
One Facebook reviewer may accept your ad today
then another will reject it tomorrow.
Don’t believe me?
Go ahead and try. You’ll be back.
The forum guy makes a common rookie mistake.
He believes Facebook and Google have different levels of tolerance for law suits.
They don’t.
Neither wants a lawsuit any more than the other. And THEY will
be held accountable for what they allow advertisers to say.
That means YOU.
But you don’t have to be at odds with the Review Staff of
Facebook in order to get traffic from them.
The solution is simple and it saves you money!
From a BUSINESS stand-point, considering both the forum guy’s
example ads are running on a pay per CLICK platform, those ads are likely to
get clicked by gosh dang near everyone.
(Provided they believe the claim)
Both ads are so inviting, there’s no hurdle, no hoop to jump
through…anyone who wants 2000 easy bucks clicks.
Who doesn’t want 2,000 easy bucks?
What’s the catch bud?
You can make Facebook accept the ad…
and you can pay LESS…
and attract buyers…
JUST BY STATING THE CATCH!
Look at this example:
“Learn how to make $2,000/month – If you’ve got 5 years and
50,000 dollars, I’ll work with you step by step. Read more!”
Exaggeration?
Yes. But it illustrates the point beautifully.
I call that a Filter Ad.
Can you imagine it getting a thousand clicks (and having to pay for them)?
No.
The only people likely to click are those who have 5 years and 50,000 and want to make $2,000/month.
In other words, BUYERS.
You don’t care if that click costs half your commission if necessary. You only need one to profit…not 3000 clicks @ 5cents each to MAYBE break even.
Filter Ads don’t have to be so uninviting…
balance is good.
But no matter where you want to advertise–Facebook, Bing, Google–if it’s a PPC
