I’m playing this game with Google at the moment…
We call it, “The carrot and stick”.
She wants my money and I want her traffic.
It’s a lot of fun. Especially when you’re not the donkey.
How it works is, I tell her, “Google. Fetch me TRAFFIC!”
I give her the parameters under which she can have my money. And then I dangle
a nice wad of dough in front of her nose but I keep it JUST beyond her reach.
She tries! Oh she tries to get it. But every time she gets
close, I let her nibble for a minute then I smack her with the stick and yank it.
We’ve been playing a few weeks now.
Every round we play, I get lots of traffic and she gets even
This is very different from the experience YOU might’ve had
advertising on Google.
Most people play a cat n mouse game…and THEY end up being
the poor little mouse.
A technique like the one I’m using…it’s a BLACK BELT level
“trick” which is hard to teach a novice without the proper base-training.
literally toying with Google’s learning algorithm, makin’ it my biyaatch.
It takes someone very experienced and brave to know when to
“smack n yank” and when to let Google eat.
But ONE DAY, you COULD be playing at that level. And when
that happens, I’ll happily teach you.
For now though, you need the base training. In our case, it’s
called the Traffic KickStart method.
It’s the white-belt kata, the basic punch of doin’ traffic
the yaghi way.
I’ll be broadcasting in just under 24 HOURS, btw.
