Yesterday, I met with an old college mate for a very early breakfast.
Very very early.
Went for a walk afterwards and it was hot.
And I figured out a remarkable way to explain to you how to become very effective at selling your business products.
See, my friend was having an inner struggle with his religious faith.
He was constantly challenging the beliefs he SHOULD have.
Now, unlike religious rituals, faith is all about your inner mind-set.
I’d been there before, same as my friend. So I knew his pain.
Constantly walked around with skepticism about things I grew up being told I HAD to blindly believe to be a good person.
Naturally, my struggle was a secret.
All these unanswered questions were wandering in my mind as I tried to make sense of life and its purpose.
One day, I saw a news item on TV about a scientist who managed to physically and medically reverse aging. Essentially, he discovered a big piece of the puzzle to making “eternal life”. The ONE advancement of the future I believed all my life could NEVER happen.
Without getting into details, it caused a domino effect of realizations in my mind and I suddenly had unshakable faith in God.
How that news item connected all the dots for me is not important to you.
But the point is, one unanswered question was holding me back from having complete faith in God.
Most people who have business difficulties struggle with SALES more than anything.
And this is actually not a problem with their lacking sales technique and skills – it’s a problem with their faith in their product!
You can’t get people to have faith in your product if you have little faith in it.
Not just the ra-ra our product is the best type of faith…but you secretly wonder if it really is that good, or if it’s price is really worth it, or if maybe you’re screwing people out of their money for something that will never work for them…
But the kind of belief where you just KNOW your product is the one thing your customer is missing in their life, and buying it will make their life complete.
No questions you can’t answer.
No customer objections that upset you.
No secret doubts in your product, its price, or its usefulness.
You’re willing to die to defend the product.
You’re willing to GIVE it to your customers just to prove it works.
You’re willing to cut off your friends, disown your children, divorce your spouse if one of them so much as THINKS about buying a competing product.
When you are in that position, you can sell that product ALL DAY LONG without even trying.
Few people have that kind of faith in their products.
I know one guy–my uncle.
He actually refused to come to my wedding if we served Pepsi instead of Coke (he works for Coke). And he’s been the TOP guy at every organization he’s ever worked for because of his ability to build that kind of faith.
Faith in your product won’t come overnight; you’ll spend your life building it.
But here’s how to start:
Start selling your product. And when someone gives an excuse, expresses doubt, or makes an objection about why they shouldn’t buy…
Answer that question for yourself.
Answer it in a way that completely convinces you.
And if the question keeps bugging you, then keep looking for answers until you find them.
I pass this advice onto you because faith is the ONLY thing that keeps me writing day after day about our Traffic services, no matter what else is going on in my life.
