You heard of the Salty
Tall nerdy blonde guy,
lawyer, likes to expose internet scammers on his blog and make fun of them?
Anyway, not a big fan
of his blog myself, but people send me links to his articles from time to time…and
it feels good to read all the mean shyt he says about people I’ve worked for
and don’t like anyway.
I came across a
long-azz shyt article on another site which reviewed the “Scam World” video
(starring Salty and all your favourite Gooroos).
Spent the day reading the
Truth be told, it was
And it made me
question the morality of the entire industry of Online Marketing.
Felt really bad for
all the awful stuff marketers are doing to people –
Selling coaching, promising
big riches, pricing their coaching whatever the max on the customer’s credit
card is, exploiting their emotional issues to push the sale, and worse.
Then yesterday I got
this IDIOTIC email:
…Blah blah…I bought
your $20 course after you mentioned this cool trick in one of your promo emails but I
don’t have time to listen to the whole course to find it. Can you just tell me
which section it’s in?…blah blah.
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!?
If you’re going to pay for a WHOLE COURSE, go through the course.
Why do people think they can just skip around training material, look for
the sexy bits, learn JUST those, and then move on?
I got another email
yesterday from some fool BEGGING me (literally could hear him crying through
the email) to take him off the mailing list because he’s retired and has NO
INTEREST in business.
Dude who the FUGK put
you on the list in the first place?
Cause I sure as shit
it’s the marketer’s
duty to be ETHICAL.
But it’s also the customer’s
duty to be SMART.
Remember, the internet is a
PASSIVE medium. Nobody can stand in front of you and force you to buy ANYTHING.
Keep your credit card
in your purse. Don’t bring it to the computer under any circumstances.
If you find yourself
buying a lot of courses and can’t control yourself, unsubscribe from all the
lists you’re on. And don’t join any new ones!
That money doesn’t
belong to you. It belongs to your FAMILY.
You’re a GROWN UP. Be responsible.
And JUST because
someone is successful doesn’t mean you can trust their products.
All it means is they’re
REALLY skilled at getting your money.
Buy only what you need, regardless of who’s selling pearls of ninja “wisdom”.
Personally, in my
entire business career, I’ve only ever benefited from ONE eBook I bought. The
rest were bookstore books!
The one seminar I paid
for was a pitchfest, as most tend to be. It’s how seminars are monetized.
And I never paid for
coaching – instead I did a kind of internship and it was far more beneficial.
There’s only two areas
I’ve ever invested BIG bucks into:
2. and personnel
things have to do with BUSINESS GROWTH.
And also, “coincidentally”, it’s what we at YaghiLabs focus on. Your business’ growth.
