Affiliate marketers who don’t keep a mailing list are beyond retarded.
And affiliate marketers who keep a list but send every offer under the sun, are cockroaches that deserve to get spooned to death.
If you MUST promote a gazillion products to monetize a schizophrenic business model, at least make sure the products are relevant to your subscriber needs.
But most affiliates haven’t even come close to realizing the REAL power of email follow-up because they don’t hang out on Ben’s mailing list.
My friend Ben, (yeah, I know I’ve been sucking up to him ALL week (no homo) )…he is the most disciplined marketer I’ve ever seen.
He absolutely REFUSES to pitch his list on anything other than a SINGLE product.
And for MONTHS he will go on promoting the same damn product over and over and over and over without ever getting bored (and without BEING boring)!
When he has other products to sell as was the case with a certain CHUB-LOSS product we worked on together with the mission of ridding the world of Fat Women, he would ONLY sell a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th product to the CUSTOMERS who buy the previous product.
No body has the option to buy Product 2 without buying Product 1.
Only one product pitched relentlessly day after day.
Meaning, if you join his list today, you will NEVER see a pitch for another thing until you buy his Flagship product.
The way he thinks of it (paraphrasing):
“It’s my duty to tell my customers what to study and in which order. I would be doing them a disservice by giving them choice; since indecision gives them another excuse to not learn what I KNOW they need!”
Plus, I (me, jim) thinks, for someone who is positioned as an expert, giving the STUDENT choice castrates the teacher’s authority.
Teachers don’t give choice:
“Yeah, hey kiddos, We’re reading To Kill a Mocking Bird this month, and we’ll study it, and that’s that. You don’t like it, tough luck. Leave the class.”
You’ll have way better luck selling your sh–I mean stuff — if you sell sequentially and do so strictly.
My man Ben says a lot of stuff that won’t make sense at first, and you’ll shake your head in disagreement…but trust me, if you try to do what he says, you’ll see he’s never wrong.
You’ll get super short and fun emails you can turn into business monies like the good little Blob you are. And between Ben and me we’re on a mission to rid the world of Ignorant Affiliate Marketers too.
